Meridian has opened a service centre at Wilhelminakade in Rotterdam, consolidating European support and spares into a single facility. The centre is now one of two operations centres providing continuous monitoring cover, alongside Singapore.
The facility replaces an arrangement in which European out-of-hours support was routed to San Francisco. Clients in the Benelux region and northern Germany should see response times shorten materially, particularly for calls raised in the European morning.
Twenty-four new roles
Recruitment is under way for 24 positions: 14 support engineers, 6 commissioning engineers and 4 spares and logistics staff. Eight of the support roles have been filled internally by engineers relocating from San Francisco, which keeps design knowledge close to the support function.
Spares holding
The centre holds rotating spares for the control platforms most common across our European client base. Holdings are reviewed quarterly against actual consumption rather than list-price value, an approach we adopted in Singapore in 2023 and which reduced average part lead time there by nine days.
